Mercedes is forced to cancel production of 17 V-8 models at the start of the 2022 model year, mostly because the chip shortage, company officials says. Dealers are left to convince their customers to buy six- and four-cylinder vehicles or wait for the V-8 to return. But no time frame for that has been given.
